2025 State of the City: A Vision for Atlanta's Future
On Tuesday, I stood before an audience of more than 1400 people at the Woodruff Art Center and had the honor of delivering the State of the City Business Address. It was a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and where we are headed. I stood before a crowded audience at the Woodruff Arts Center and as I looked around the room, I saw people from all different walks of life. People from different countries, different cities, different neighborhoods. People with different beliefs and religions. People with different abilities or disabilities. People of different genders and sexual orientations. Just people. It served as a reminder that diversity and inclusion are something that contributes to the strength of our city and all of our residents are people worth fighting for.
When you love something you fight for it and I love Atlanta. Love looks like an action and love ought to look like something.
It looks like fighting every day for progress and breaking down barriers to opportunity.
It looks like taking care of our youth and our seniors.
It looks like affordable homes and good schools.
It looks like clearing our streets of gangs and guns.
It looks like feeding the hungry and housing the homeless.
It looks like a city united—a diverse group project, fighting for ALL people.
Each of us has a role to play, and I ask you to join me.
Join me in ensuring that our love for this city continues to move us forward. Because we are more than just a city—we are a shining beacon of hope for this nation
